Venture Capitalist Eric Hippeau Speaks at CEO Dinner
On May 7, Solomon Partners hosted their 7th Annual Retail CEO Dinner at Le Bernardin in New York City. Bringing together CEO’s of leading retail and media companies, guests enjoyed an evening of great company, networking and critically acclaimed cuisine.
Eric Hippeau, a Managing Partner at Lerer Hippeau, an early-stage venture capital firm, served as the special guest to discuss innovation in retail, media and technology, including how consumer behavior patterns have drastically changed over time. He addressed how boards and executives of established businesses should think about staying current with innovation and how they should evaluate investments in potential disruptive businesses in their industry, taking into account financial impact and cultural issues.
Looking to the future, voice computing will be the next big platform that will shape consumer behavior, according to Mr. Hippeau.
Mr. Hippeau has held numerous prominent roles, including Chairman & CEO of Ziff-Davis, CEO of Huffington Post, Managing Partner at Softbank Capital, and Board member of Yahoo. He is also currently on the Board of Marriott International and Buzzfeed.
