Scott Moses Delivers Closing Keynote Session at FMI’s Fresh Forward Conference

Scott Moses, Head of our Grocery, Pharmacy & Restaurants Group, joined the closing keynote session at FMI’s Fresh Forward conference last month.

Scott highlighted the outlook for the food retail industry, focusing on robust grocery demand as millions of new American chefs continue to cook most meals at home during the pandemic, particularly amid highly-elevated unemployment. He also suggested traditional supermarkets should use their increased cashflow to make investments that will prevent them from being further disintermediated by competitors such as Amazon, Walmart and Costco, as well as drug and dollar stores. Scott concluded by reiterating that supermarkets have proven this year how they are pillars of thousands of American communities, worthy of their customers’ trust and loyalty, well beyond the pandemic.
