Reflections On 2024 And Vision For The Future
2024 was a milestone year for Solomon Partners. Not only was it a record revenue year, we also meaningfully diversified our business and enhanced our product capabilities.
We introduced two new groups, Distribution and Financial Institutions, and expanded our industry coverage across Healthcare, Infrastructure, Power & Renewables, and Technology. Additionally, our Capital Advisory group now provides a broader range of financing options to support our clients’ evolving needs.
Over our 35-year history, we have significantly expanded from a Consumer Retail-focused boutique to covering 12 key industry verticals. Since forming a partnership with Natixis in 2016, we have grown from 35 bankers, including 10 Managing Directors, to over 180 bankers, of which 35 are Partners and Managing Directors. In order to accommodate our expansion, during 2024 we relocated our New York headquarters to a larger space, opened an office in Tampa, and expanded our Chicago office.
Throughout the year, we delivered outstanding results for our clients. A few highlights include advising:
- Saks on its acquisition of Neiman Marcus, and upon closing of the transaction, HBC’s Canadian Business will be recapitalized as a standalone entity, separate from Saks Global
- Hibbett on its sale to JD Sports Fashion
- the Special Committee of SiriusXM’s Board of Directors on SiriusXM’s combination with Liberty SiriusXM Tracking Stock Group
- MRO Holdings on its strategic investment from Bain Capital
Our success is a testament to the strength of our bankers, and I’m so proud of our incredible team. We had one of the greatest recruiting years in our firm’s history, hiring senior bankers who have deep industry expertise and experience in getting transactions done.
- Vinod Chandiramani, Partner, Head of Capital Advisory
- Jason Kliewer and Nick Troyer, Partners, Co-Heads of Distribution
- Derek Bentley, Partner, Head of Energy Transition
- Arik Rashkes, Partner, Head of Financial Institutions
- Whit Knier, Partner, Healthcare Services
- James Butcher, Managing Director, Technology
- Solange Velazquez, Managing Director, Technology
In addition to Solomon’s senior hires, we continued to develop our talent and promoted several exceptional bankers throughout the organization.
- Robbie Kelley, Partner Promote, Business Services
- Aryeh Sand, Partner Promote, Healthcare
- Tucker Laurens, MD Promote, Financial Sponsors
Looking ahead to 2025, I am energized by the global economic outlook. As a firm, we will maintain our strong momentum into the new year – recruiting great bankers, further diversifying our capabilities, deepening our strong client relationships, and getting deals done.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our clients who have put their trust in us, and to my colleagues for their dedication and commitment to excellence.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year.
